Korean War veterans meeting Saturday
The Korean War Veterans West Hawaii Chapter 279 meets at 10 a.m. Saturday at Denny’s Restaurant in Kailua-Kona.
The group is open to those who served during the Korean War and others who served in the airspace and waters of the Korean peninsula. Anyone interested in joining the group, as a regular or auxiliary member, is welcome to attend.

NARFE meeting May 18
The National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association Kailua-Kona chapter meets for lunch at 11 a.m. May 18 at Kings’ Grille in Waikoloa.
In recognition of Armed Forces Day, members of the Pohakuloa Training Base will be guests in attendance. The meeting will include a presentation on the history of the armed services. Lunch from the menu follows the meeting. All active and retired federal employees are welcome to attend. Waimea quilting group meets Saturday
Mauna Kea Quilters meets from 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday in the meeting room of the Thelma Parker Memorial Library in Waimea.
The group gathers the second Saturday of every month for a business meeting and show-and-tell. Members and visitors share new ideas and techniques. A binding demonstration is planned this month.
